Jonathan Kooiman, CPA CA LPA
CEO – Partner
Jonathan graduated with a BA honours with distinction from Redeemer University in 2003 and obtained his CA designation in 2005 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
Before partnering with David, Jonathan gathered over 16 years of experience working with hundreds of owner managed businesses assisting them in assurance, tax planning and financial advisory services. During this time, Jonathan also inspired the next generation as an associate professor at Redeemer University, teaching tax, auditing and accounting.
Jonathan has built his practice by meeting entrepreneurs where they are at. From start-ups in need of a business plan and financing to well established organizations focused on keeping the momentum going or looking to transition ownership to the next generation – Jonathan has the skills and experience to deliver.
Collaborating with entrepreneurs to meet their professional and personal goals is what Jonathan does best. Utilizing his professional skills and experience in assurance, tax planning, government compliance, performance measurement and operational benchmarks, Jonathan helps clients leverage both risks and opportunities. Although it is important for all Canadians to pay their fair share of taxes, Jonathan has gathered many experiences reducing the tax burden so that clients can invest more in their businesses and in their personal goals.
Jonathan is no stranger to working with charities and not-for-profits. Serving many of these organizations over his career, both as an auditor and Board member, Jonathan adds value to organization’s goals in the area of financial systems development and maintenance, organization asset protection policies, development and monitoring key metrics and of course, auditing, accounting and reporting requirements to donors, members and the public at large.
Jonathan lives in Milton with his wife Laura and their five children. Outdoor activities and travel occupy the family’s leisure time.
